Stewart’s Ice Cream Recall: Check Your Freezer for These Two Flavors

If you bought Stewart’s half-gallon ice cream this summer, take a minute to check your freezer. Stewart’s Shops is voluntarily recalling two flavors over possible metal contamination, the FDA announced October 2.

What’s recalled:

  • Heavenly Medley, half gallon — UPC 0 82086 44371 1, best-by Feb. 10, 2027
  • Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry, half gallon — UPC 0 82086 44377 3, best-by Feb. 11, 2027

The recall covers cartons sold at all Stewart’s shops in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire between July 17 and October 2, 2026. With a 7-month shelf life, cartons bought this summer could still be sitting in home freezers — worth a look before your next bowl.

The recall was triggered after a customer found a metal object in a carton. No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

What to do: Don’t eat it. Return the carton to any Stewart’s shop for a full refund. Questions for Stewart’s: Robin Cooper at 518-248-0455 or rcooper@stewartsshops.com.

Stewart’s has shops all over the tri-county — four in Watertown alone, plus Brownville, Black River, Evans Mills, Carthage, Philadelphia, and Copenhagen — so this one’s close to home.
