How the process works

1. You contact us and tell us a little bit about your story.
2. We read every submission and decide whether it’s a fit for NNY Info — a North Country connection, something readers here will care about, and enough there to tell a full story.
3. We reply to everyone — whether we can use your story or not — with a brief explanation.
4. If it’s a fit, we work together by email. We may send you a short questionnaire; answer all of it, some of it, or none of it — your choice.
5. You can send photos, video, and anything else relevant to your story by email.
6. We write the complete draft — with your photos and any background facts we’ve gathered — and email it to you.
7. You review it. Want changes, additions, or something taken out? Just tell us by email.
8. Nothing publishes until you say so. Only when you give the final word — OK to publish — does your story go live on nnyinfo.com.

You’re in control

• You are in complete control of what goes into your story before it publishes.
• You may use your real name, or publish anonymously. We would still need to know who you are — anonymous to readers, not to us.
• If your story names other people, please let them know and ask their permission too.
• Depending on the story, we may look up and add relevant background facts — you’ll see anything we add in the draft you approve.
• Changed your mind later? If a published story ever needs an edit, an update, or even removal, contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
