Corrections

Mistakes happen on a one-person site, and they’d rather be owned than hidden. When something published here turns out to be wrong or misleading, it’s corrected in the article itself, and the correction is listed below with the date.

How corrections are handled: the article is fixed directly, the correction gets logged publicly, and if the error changed the story’s meaning, the note appears at the top of the article. Spotted something wrong? Say so — every report gets read.

Corrections we’ve made:

  • September 20, 2026 — A driving-safety article was retitled from “Fall Is the Deadliest Driving Season” to “Fall Is One of New York’s Highest-Crash Seasons.” The data supported high fall crash volume but not the claim that fall is the deadliest season. Headline changed; article content unaffected.
  • September 20, 2026 — A sentence in the school drinking-water article was corrected for accuracy.
