Weekend Roundup: October 30–November 1

It’s Halloween weekend in the North Country — trunk-or-treats in every corner of the tri-county area, two haunted houses, a live Rocky Horror, and one last night at the farm haunt in Massena. Here’s what’s on, day by day.

Friday, October 30

  • American Legion Post 61 Community Trunk N’ Treat — 4:00–6:00 PM, American Legion Post 61, 138 Sterling St, Watertown — an early, daylight stop for kids 12 and under.
  • Countywide Trunk or Treat — 5:00–7:00 PM, free, Human Services Building, 80 State Highway 310, Canton — decorated vehicles, treats, and a snowplow on display; moves indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  • Halloween Trunk or Treat — 5:00–7:00 PM, free, North Country Auto Parts / Canton Tire Lot, Riverside Dr, Canton — a good early stop for younger kids.
  • Mall-oween at Salmon Run Mall — 6:00–7:00 PM, free, Salmon Run Mall, Watertown — kids 12 and under with an adult; look for the “Trick or Treat Here” signs at participating stores.
  • SUNY Canton Trunk or Treat — 6:00–7:30 PM, free, Parking Lot 5 (French Hall), SUNY Canton — ages 2–10; rain location is Dana Hall.
  • Forest of Fear: Zombie Outbreak — 6:00–10:00 PM, Outskirts 1812, Sackets Harbor — tickets sold in the tent from 6 PM, the trail runs from dark to 10 PM, rain or shine, free parking, children 4 and under free.
  • North Country Scare Haunted House — 6:00–10:00 PM, $10, ages 13 and up, Masonic Temple, 242 Washington St, Watertown — night one of two for downtown’s new haunt.
  • Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show — 7:00 PM, The Strand, 136 Franklin St, Watertown — the live stage musical, not the film; ticket prices weren’t posted, so check the theater’s site.
  • Breezy Maples Farm “After Dark” Final Night — 7:00–10:00 PM, $15 plus tax, Breezy Maples Farm, 331 Willard Road, Massena — Friday is the last night of the season; there is no Saturday show.

Sunday, November 1

No events are on the calendar for Sunday — after two packed days, the North Country takes Halloween Sunday off. Two things still change that morning: clocks fall back an hour at 2:00 AM, and overnight winter parking bans take effect in many communities. Town-by-town hours for trick-or-treating and the rest of the season’s Halloween details are in our trick-or-treat hours and Halloween guide.

See everything coming up on the full events calendar.
