Early voting in New York wraps up today — Sunday, November 1 — and Election Day follows on Tuesday, November 3. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. Here are the practicals in one place.
Still want to vote early? Today is the last day. Early voting sites and today’s hours are listed in the state voter lookup and on your county Board of Elections site: voterlookup.elections.ny.gov
Find your polling place. Your Election Day polling place may be different from your early voting site. The same lookup shows your assigned location, your registration status, and sample ballot information.
- Polls are open 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday. If you are in line by 9:00 PM, you can still vote — stay in line.
- Voting by mail? A mail ballot must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 3, or returned in person by 9:00 PM Tuesday to your county Board of Elections office or any poll site in your county.
- First time voting after registering by mail? You may be asked for identification — a photo ID, or a current utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address.
- Every poll site has an accessible ballot-marking device. Just ask a poll worker.
Sample ballots are posted by each county Board of Elections — Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence — if you want to see your races before you go.
