Halloween in the North Country runs on trunk-or-treats, small-town parades, and a few genuinely spooky nights. Here’s what’s confirmed for 2026 across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties — every event below is verified against the organizer’s own page. More get announced through October, so check back; this guide gets updated as new ones are confirmed.
Jefferson County
Boo at the Zoo — Zoo New York, Thompson Park, Watertown
October 17, 18, 24, and 25, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. The zoo’s big annual family Halloween event: trick-or-treating through the grounds, music, crafts, and a pumpkin patch. Dates come from the zoo’s own vendor form; admission details weren’t posted yet, so check zoonewyork.org before you go.
Trick-or-Treat-or-Trucks — Flower Memorial Library & City Hall parking lot, Watertown
Saturday, October 3, starting 10 a.m. Costumes, Halloween games and crafts, candy, and touch-a-truck with police, fire, and construction vehicles. Runs rain or shine. (End time and cost not yet posted.)
Paddock Mansion Paranormal Investigation — 228 Washington St., Watertown
Saturday, October 10, 7 p.m.–midnight. An after-hours ghost hunt at the Jefferson County Historical Society’s Paddock Mansion — bring equipment or just curiosity. $40 per person, registration required, space is limited. Tickets on Eventbrite
Fort Drum Trunk or Treat — SSG Truman Cool Memorial Ball Fields, Fort Drum
Friday, October 23, 5–8 p.m. 30+ decorated trunks, treats, food trucks, and family activities with the Fort Drum USO. Free and open to active duty, families, retirees, veterans, DoD civilians, and the general public. Official event page
Girl Scout Trunk or Treat — Watertown area
Saturday, October 24, 6–8 p.m. Annual trunk-or-treat with games, crafts, snacks, photo ops, and touch-a-truck with police, fire, and ambulance vehicles. Location wasn’t posted on the event page yet — check the Girl Scout event page before heading out.
St. Lawrence County
Fall Fest: Pumpkinpalooza — Downtown Massena
Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Free admission. 40+ vendors, food trucks, live music all day, kids’ activities, and downtown businesses open. The county’s biggest fall festival. Explore Massena
Bite Night Haunted Infirmary — Clarkson Hall, Clarkson University, Potsdam
October 23 and 24, 6–11 p.m. A haunted infirmary with frightening rooms and characters, put on by Clarkson’s Physician Assistant program — proceeds benefit Students Without Borders. Ticket price wasn’t posted; expect a fundraiser admission. Potsdam Chamber events

Nothing confirmed yet. Lowville’s Halloween Towne — the annual downtown trick-or-treating and parade — hasn’t announced 2026 details. This section gets filled in as soon as it does.

No town has published official 2026 trick-or-treat hours yet — not Watertown, Lowville, Canton, Potsdam, Massena, or Ogdensburg. They usually land in early-to-mid October via local news. We’ll add them here (and in the Weekend Roundup archive) as they’re announced.
