NNY Info is a one-person local site for Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. These are the rules it runs on:
- Verify before publishing. Every statistic, phone number, link, and factual claim gets checked against an official or primary source before it goes live. If something can’t be confirmed, it’s marked as unconfirmed — not guessed at.
- Headlines never outrun the evidence. If the data says October and November are the highest-crash months, the headline says that — not that fall is the deadliest season.
- Commentary cites; it doesn’t copy. When a story starts with reporting from the Watertown Daily Times, WWNY, or another outlet, you’ll get a link to their work and original commentary on top of it — never a rewrite of theirs.
- Inform, don’t alarm. On scary topics — school water, crashes, storms — the goal is to tell you what’s actually happening and what to do about it, without adding fuel to the fire.
- Events are a trust business. If it’s on the calendar, it was checked. A missing major event is a failure, and listing tiny events nobody would drive to isn’t a service.
